Fish Stocking

Texas Lake Management employs the most modern fish delivery methods and equipment available. Our fish are transported in specially designed fiberglass or aluminum tanks, which are usually separated into individual compartments ranging from 90 to 150 gallons in size. The hauling vehicle is equipped with a liquid oxygen tank, which supplies 100% pure oxygen to each individual tank compartment. The pure oxygen and the water supply the life support system for the fish while being transported.

Upon arrival at the lake site the truck driver will take several steps to insure that the fish do not experience any unnecessary stress. Since large fluctuations in water quality can stress the fish, the water temperature is checked and compared with the temperature in the hauling truck. If there is more than a five degree difference in temperature, the fish will be tempered prior to release.

After the water in the truck is acclimated, the fish are then released directly into the pond by opening the release valve or weighed and/or counted into a tub and hand carried down to the lake and then released. Our many years of experience handling fish assures that any fish you order from Texas Lake Management will arrive in excellent condition
